Was doing some cleaning this morning and as I have this on the top of my cupboard with some ivy, I took it down to wash it off. This was Grandma's scale, she used it to weigh the butter she made and sold when they lived in Kenilworth and she used it for other things also. I just know that it was something that she always had in her kitchen and I was so excited when my Dad asked me if I wanted it. Everyday, when I look at it, I remember what a hard worker she was, and remember that I came from that stock. It gives me the courage to keep on truckin'. Thought you all would like to share that.

I love it! Just looking at it, and remembering her, gives me a warm feeling. She was a hard worker, but always so pleasant. She had a wonderful, loving presence about her. I'm so glad you that you posted this memory of her.
How awesome. I love old stuff like that and the memories that go with them. I wish I would have known her, she sounds like an awesome lady.
